Scraptoft Hall, main front
Fully refurbished, compare with https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2238528 from 2011. The house dates from 1723, but despite the impressive facade, the alterations made when it was part of Leicester Polytechnic, and subsequently as part of its residential conversion, mean that it is only Listed Grade II.

Scraptoft Hall
Ancestral home of the Wigley family, this delightful Queen Anne country house of 1723 was bought by Leicester Education Committee in 1954 and evolved as an educational campus with Leicester Polytechnic and latterly De Montfort University. The campus closed in 2003 and much of the parkland developed as retirement housing, though the hall remains forlorn and vandalised.
