Bardon Hill Sidings
The Midland Railway signal box is in use serving stone trains on the Coalville freight branch. Much of the stone traffic originates from Bardon Hill superquarry; the extension to this is starting. The box originates from 1899.

Bardon Hill Station
This is a view southward towards Leicester, but it seems as if the (historic) map shows the station on the wrong side of the crossing! The line is the Leicester - Burton-on-Trent line, closed to passengers on 7/9/64 but remains open today to Goods - and is a candidate for restoration. Bardon Hill station was closed back on 12/5/52 but seems remarkably preserved nine years later.
