Bardon Hill Station
This is a view southward towards Leicester, but it seems as if the (historic) map shows the station on the wrong side of the crossing! The line is the Leicester - Burton-on-Trent line, closed to passengers on 7/9/64 but remains open today to Goods - and is a candidate for restoration. Bardon Hill station was closed back on 12/5/52 but seems remarkably preserved nine years later.

Bardon Hill Sidings
The Midland Railway signal box is in use serving stone trains on the Coalville freight branch. Much of the stone traffic originates from Bardon Hill superquarry; the extension to this is starting.
The box originates from 1899.
