M1 motorway nearing Leicester Forest East services
The bridge ahead forms the access to the northbound services for supply vehicles and the emergency services. It dates from the motorway's construction in the 1960s, this section being opened in November 1965. Its design would not now be permitted as supporting pillars obstruct the "hard shoulder".
