A thank you from Glaston
My driver punctiliously observes the 30mph limit on the westbound A47 through Glaston, for some reason the only village not bypassed by the A47 between Peterborough and Leicester's suburbs.

Village Pond, Glaston
What looks to be a formal pool is actually a pond constructed about 1740. The wording on the sign (see Image) says, "An ancient pond circa 1740 for soaking cart wheels to prevent ash wood shrinking from the iron tyres and also for horses hooves to prevent hardening" I hope the horses didn't get foot rot!
