Cottesmore Post Office with spire
The spire of course does not belong to the Post Office. The latter is part of a well-stocked village shop.

Priority Postbox
An E2R wall box, or perhaps an E2 door on an earlier box. The name "W.T. Allen & Co. Ltd London" cast into the frame is interesting. Although sold by Allen, the boxes were actually cast in Nottinghamshire at the foundry of James Maude & Co, at the Sherwood Iron Foundry on Forest Road, Mansfield. (see http://www.ournottinghamshire.org.uk/page/post_boxes_-_mansfield?path=0p31p37p ) update: fellow Geographist Richard Ellis tells me that W.T. Allen made E2R boxes too, so my suspicion about the door being a replacement is probably unnecessary. This one is currently defined as a "priority postbox" for returning postal Covid-19 tests.
