Leicestershire played Lancashire in the One Day Cup at Oakham School. After an overcast morning and early afternoon the sun eventually broke through towards the end of a match in which a feeble Leicestershire were comprehensively beaten (Leics 172, Lancs 175-1).

Oakham School: a cover drive
After a grey morning and early afternoon, the sun broke through as Lancashire eased to an emphatic 9-wicket win against Leicestershire. Here Haseeb Hameed plays a classical cover drive on his way to 55 not out. His partner, the Lancashire captain Liam Livingstone, walloped seven sixes in 90 not out as the match ended early, with 24 overs unused (Leics 172, Lancs 175 for 1).

Oakham School: Parkinson to Parkinson
When Leicestershire played Lancashire in the One Day Cup at Oakham School, the Parkinson twins - both spin bowlers - faced each other. During Leicestershire's innings, the Lancashire leg-spinner Matt Parkinson bowled to his brother Callum, who went on to score 20. Matt took 4 for 30 as Lancashire cruised to a crushing win: Leics 172, Lancs 175-1. (The tents in the background housed the public address announcer, journalists and local radio broadcasters.)

On the misty morning of Leicestershire's One Day Cup match against Lancashire the chunky Mark Cosgrove pulled a ball on his way to 52 - the top score of Leicestershire's meagre 172, a total the visitors later overhauled with 9 wickets and 24 overs to spare.
