Twyford: Main Street and St Andrew's Church
"The W tower is Perp, and it is built of grey ashlar, with an oddly flat frieze below the battlements and pinnacles" (Nikolaus Pevsner). The view is from the corner of King Street, where a notice lists the contents of the village shop.

Ironstone walls, but fine limestone for the tower, the battlements and the tall Perpendicular windows. Most of the older gravestones are Swithland slate.

Church of St Andrew, Twyford
The church is distinguished externally by its Perpendicular period features, comprising the fine limestone tower and the nave windows of almost cathedral proportions. The church is Listed Grade I. There is a bench mark http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/5273172 on the corner of the tower.
