Harwood House
The Grade 2 listed Art Deco building was built for the NFU in Melton Mowbray. The inscription on either side of the door reads 'BY FARMERS FOR FARMERS' and 'ESTABLISHED 1919'.

Melton Mowbray street culture
Leicestershire County Council recently tried to put an end to the popular Melton Mowbray street cafe culture by imposing a licence costing of several hundreds of ££££££s and only granted after compliance with the recommendations of a LCC health and safety inspection. One might think that LCC is a bit short of cash. The Melton Borough Council does its bit by imposing parking charges and employing traffic wardens who impose punitive penalty charges for the smallest infringement.
