Barrow Upon Soar railway station, Leicestershire
Opened in 1994 by British Rail on the line from Loughborough to Leicester, this replaced a station some 700m further north (just beyond the second bridge in the distance) that had closed in 1968.
View north west towards the first Barrow-on-Soar station, and Loughborough.

The new (1994) station at Barrow-upon-Soar
View NW, towards Derby, Chesterfield and the North. These platforms on the Slow lines of the ex-Midland London St Pancras - Leicester and the North main line were opened on 30/5/94, replacing the original station a half mile further NW, which was closed on 4/3/68 (see Image]).

Midland Main Line at site of Barrow-on-Soar station, with DMU, 1990
View NW, towards Loughborough, Trent and the North. The original Barrow-upon-Soar station was closed 4/3/68, but a new station was opened, on the Slow lines (right hand pair), on 30/5/95 half a mile nearer London - behind the camera (see ....). The 150 class DMU is on an Up working on the Fast lines.
