Former Maplin Electronics store
Maplin was a wonderful source of electronic components for nearly 50 years but they went into administration and their 200+ stores ceased trading. The Maplin brand was purchased by a third party and re-launched as an online store only in January 2019. The original Maplins operated from a shop near to Southend on Sea with adverts in all the electronics magazines!

Carington Street
On older maps spelt with two 'r's. This and the two adjacent streets to the west remain unadopted, hence the non-standard road signs. Until Alan Moss Road was constructed they were cul-de-sacs with access from the far end only.
