The ruins of two bays of a medieval hall (manor house) plus the surviving portion of what became part of the rectory of the adjacent 700 year old parish church. The ground floor of the roofed, house-like structure (14th century) is thought to have been the kitchen of the original rectory and the first floor of the same building was probably the priest's accommodation. Later on a huge two storey rectory for the rector (or vicar) of the parish church was built on the grassed area between the monkey puzzle tree and the bushes visible near the ruins of the two bays. "The Old Rectory" was demolished in 1962. The modern maisonettes beyond the perimeter fence are situated in Toothill Road.

Loughborough, Leics (Parish Church Area)
Part of what remains of a medieval hall now known as "The Old Rectory Museum" off Rectory Place, premises that are owned by the Borough Council. The ground floor of this 14th century structure is thought to have been the kitchen of the original rectory and the first floor, the cleric's accommodation. Later on an immense two-storey rectory was built on the now-grassed area to the left of the ruins. However, this newer Victorian extension was demolished in 1962, it being considered too impractical and expensive for the adjacent All- Saints-with-Holy-Trinity Church to maintain. The houses in the distance are situated on Toothill Road, the word Toothill coming from the Saxon word 'tot', meaning a lookout or watching post.
