1st Brecon Scout Group headquarters, Brecon
Located on Scout Lane, adjacent to the east bank of the River Usk. Scout premises are often referred to as huts, but that is not appropriate here! The Group was founded in 1910. It is in the Brecon and Glanusk District of the Brecknock scout area.

Houses alongside the end of the canal, Brecon
Viewed from canal bridge 167. Before major rebuilding work in this area in the 1990s, the canal extended about 100 metres beyond its current end (or start!) point, which is now adjacent to the tree in the background.

The noticeboard is on railings at the Brecon end of the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal. Dragonfly Cruises run canal boat trips from here from March to October, on the days of the week shown on the board. The 2½ hour return trip advertised includes passage through a lock and across an aqueduct. Business is very good today, a Sunday in late May: the 11.30 trip is fully booked.
In the distance is canal bridge 167. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2608661
