A typical small Midland Bank of 1913, by in-house architects Woodfall and Eccles. Fine ashlar with excellent Edwardian Baroque details and just the right scale. Now HSBC, of course, but still a bank.

The Guildhall, High Street Inferior
The Guildhall was built in 1770 by local man Andrew Maund, but altered in 1888 by Brewer of Cardiff. Still the civic hub of the community.

Chang, a new name in Brecon High Street
Viewed on Tuesday July 26th 2016, the opening day of Chang Thai cuisine restaurant at 50 High Street. Formerly Ye Olde Cognac public house, the building has been refurbished with a contemporary interior. The black & white building was erected as a house in the 16th century, rebuilt in the 18th century. Grade II listed in 1976.
