Old Sunday School
On the corner of Chapel Lane and High Street. This also shows the location of the fingerpost with the old pre-Worboys sign, shown in detail here http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1584775 .

Traditional signpost
The ring on the top confirms that despite the relative proximity to Lancaster, this location is in the former West Riding of Yorkshire. The post has lost all its traditional wooden or cast arms, but despite the introduction of one Worboys-style finger (which points in the wrong direction!), it also retains a pre-Worboys standard direction plate http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1584771 .

Refurbished fingerpost
Burton in Lonsdale Parish Council commissioned David Gosling of Signpost Restoration Ltd to repair the original arms and prepare everything for painting by village volunteers. David also converted the modern arm to emulate the older ones and lettered it for us.

The junction of Burton Hill and Low Street
Looking towards the junction where Low Street, on the right, meets Burton Hill. The Mount, dated 1896, overlooks the junction and Mount View, which is the house on the right. On the sunlit corner of Mount View there is an early bench mark - Image
