Rough grazing, Heysham Moss
A little-used public footpath follows the base of the old railway embankment for Heysham Moss sidings (on the right).
The transmission mast carries the 132kV Heysham - Lancaster line.
In the background, across the (hidden) railway line, is Mossgate Park housing estate. Heysham has expanded quite considerably in recent years.

Rough grazing, Heysham Moss
Ragwort is growing well in the foreground.
In the middle distance, groundworks are in progress for a new 400kV sub-station, to accommodate additional off-shore wind generation. Confusingly, the plans refer to this as Middleton sub-station, although it is north of the existing Heysham sub-station.

This is a new 400kV sub-station to accommodate additional off-shore wind generation. The sub-station building cladding and gantries for the incoming 400kV lines appear to be complete. The plans show that the pylon on the right will need to be repositioned.
