The view towards the Lune Aqueduct and the canal milestone
The Lune Aqueduct is 32 miles north of Preston and the canal milestone is on the far bank, the opposite side to the towpath.

The winding point at the NW end of the Lune Aqueduct.
In the foreground is a milestone (2 miles to Lancaster), and an overflow weir, which runs into the river.

River Lune from the Aqueduct
Looking upstream. The trees on the right of the river are quite successfully disguising industrial buildings.
In the distance, the M6 bridge over the river is just visible, with a snow covered Ingleborough almost hidden beyond. Caton Moor wind farm is at centre-right.
