Old style gate, Green Yew
As the footpath enters woodland this gate can be seen. The vast majority of these kind of gates were long ago superseded by the modern, hinged variety. Many of the old gateposts with their carved holes are often lying abandoned nearby.

Sheep, Howe Farm
There is quite a mix of breeds here. However, the ram (the one in the harness) has only one thing on his mind - to further mix up the gene pool! NB the harness holds a dyed pad which transfers colour to the back of any mounted ewe. That way the farmer knows which ewes have been serviced, often by which ram if a range of colours are used.

The Winster Valley
A broad, shallow valley here, the river running in the hedgeline. At this moment echoing to the near-continuous sound of gunfire coming from the vicinity of nearby Winster House.
