Mortal Man Hotel
We stayed here in November 2010 and the owners were relatively new. Our room had been refurbished and had excellent views when it wasn't raining. Cosy and good food. We enjoyed our stay.

The Mortal Man, Troutbeck
This well-known Lakeland inn can trace its history back to an ale house that stood here in 1689. It was originally known as the White House but had the nick-name 'Mortal Man' from the rhyme about Sally Birkett's ale which now appears on the inn sign. The building enjoys a spectacular view down the valley.
