Windermere : The Priory
2. Victorian Gothic, detached house. Stone, with slate roof. Prominent square tower with pierced battlements, gargoyles, round angle turret, trefoil headed windows on 4 sides to the top room above roof level, carved bands, bosses, a large 3-light pointed arched window on first floor, and stepped stair windows below. Gables. Octagonal stone chimneys. Pointed arched windows with cusped lights. Gothic porch of similar style.

Windermere, The Priory
The Priory was built in 1869 as a country mansion for the Carver family. The Grade II Listed Building (English Heritage Building ID: 351707 http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-351707-the-priory-windermere-cumbria British Listed Buildings) with its many original gothic features, has been converted into residential apartments.
