Cottages at Town Head
The two cottages were built in 1688 and at about 150 metres above sea level, have a wonderful view down the valley to Grasmere. The cottages of Helmside on the other side of the Green Burn valley are sheltered by trees. Note that the path leading up Helm Crag above the trees is a brighter colour of green than the surrounding fell side.
