Donald Malcolm Campbell C.B.E. Grave, Coniston
Donald Malcolm Campbell, CBE (23 March 1921 – 4 January 1967) was a British speed record breaker who broke eight absolute world speed records on water and on land in the 1950s and 1960s. He remains the only person to set both world land and water speed records in the same year (1964). He died during a water speed record attempt at Coniston Water in the Lake District, England.
Campbell was buried in Coniston Cemetery on 12 September 2001.

Donald Campbell's Grave, Coniston
Following his death, in 1967, whilst attempting to break the water speed record, Donald Campbell's body was finally recovered in 2001. He was buried, in Coniston cemetery, on 12th September 2001.

The grave of Donald Campbell in Coniston
Speedster Donald Campbell was killed on Coniston Water in January 1967 when attempting to break the world water speed record aboard "Bluebird". His headless body was not recovered until 2001 when it was buried here in the same month as the terrorist attacks on The World Trade Center in New York City.
