Westfield Memorial Village, Lancaster
Westfield Memorial Village originated after the 1st World War. A Lancaster Industrialist, Herbert Storey, donated the land and in 1918 the landscape architect, Thomas Mawson designed the Village. A committee was formed which became a charity in 1919 with the primary aim of providing residential accommodation for Disabled and Necessitous Members and Ex-Members of HM Forces and their relatives and dependants who came from Lancashire and the North West of England. Finance was raised locally by public subscription and the first stage of the Village was completed and opened on 27th November 1924 by Field Marshal Earl Haig. Many of the houses are in the 'Arts and Crafts' style.

Houses, Willow Lane, Lancaster
Former council houses, I think. The two inner doors of the block of four houses look to have their original canopies. The outer pair are interesting, like miniature porches.
