After weeks of disruption on this quiet street when the gas board dug the pavement up Lancashire County Council followed up with a full resurface. Try getting your car out through that lot.

Suburban Garden
Just in the southern edge of the square in the cul de sac of Chequers Avenue. The Silver Birch is part of Black Wood which is just beyond the garden and shows on the 1940 and 1840 OS Maps as a small triangle of woodland. Black Wood is now surrounded by houses on all sides.
