Charles Wootton College of Further Education
An old building on the corner of Upper Parliament Street and Kingsley Road with interesting chimneys. The college was named after Charles Wotten (sometimes spelled Wootton), a young Bermudian seafarer in his 20s who was murdered by an angry white mob during the race riots of 1919. The learning centre in his name was established in 1974 but closed in 1999. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-merseyside-48527393 It has since been demolished and replaced by apartments called Parliament Square.
