6-14 Abercromby Square, Liverpool
The south side of the "most complete survival" of early C19th housing in the area (Pevsner). The square has been entirely colonised by the University of Liverpool. It was laid out by John Foster senior, Liverpool Corporation's Surveyor, and built between 1819 and 1830. The houses are each of two or three bays and three storeys plus basement, with pilaster doorcases and wrought-iron balconies. The centre of the terrace is emphasised by a Greek Doric porch. Grade II listed.

Department of Civic Design, Bedford Street South, Liverpool
Part of the University of Liverpool. Built 1950-51 to the designs of Gordon Stephenson. Modernist in its overall form, the continuous bands of windows and canopies on slender iron columns. Pevsner remarks that "it has the slightly undernourished look that marks that period of austerity".

Sculpture outside Liverpool University (Music?) Department
Is it a hand holding an elephant? Whatever it is, I loved it! It stands outside the entrance to the Music(?) Department in Liverpool. Please advise if I've got it wrong.
