The Isla Gladstone Conservatory
The Conservatory in Stanley Park was originally completed in 1900 and named after William Ewart Gladstone (Liberal Prime Minister 4 times). Popular until WW2 it fell into disrepair in the 1950s and lay derelict until 2009 when it was rebuilt. Upon rebuilding it was renamed as a tribute to the women of Liverpool and to the memory of Isla Gladstone, designer, gardener and student of Liverpool.
