View from St John's Beacon towards Beetham Tower West
The Radio City viewing gallery at St John’s Beacon provides excellent panoramic views of the city and beyond (http://www.radiocity.co.uk/local/radio-city-viewing-gallery/ Radio City). The tallest building in this photograph is the Beetham Tower West (at SJ 3385 9083). Completed in 2004, this apartment block is the tallest building in Liverpool, standing 140 metres tall - just 2 metres higher than the St John's Beacon from where this photograph was taken).

View southward, towards buffer-stops, with a Stanier (later series) Class 5 4-6-0 on an express for Blackpool. [This is from one of my earliest colour-slides, hence colours are not quite right].

Former Cotton Exchange, Old Hall Street, Liverpool
There was an older exchange here, much of which survives behind (
Image]), but its impressive front was pulled down and replaced by this block of 1967-69 by Newton-Dawson, Forbes & Tate.
