Halsall War Memorial and St Cuthbert's Church
St Cuthbert’s Church is a Grade I listed building (Historic England List entry Number: 1073159 https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1073159 ). The church dates from the 14th century with an early 15th century tower; it was restored in 1886. The War Memorial is in the form of a limestone market cross on a sandstone base (probably dating from the 15th century) the cross head is gabled and carved with crucifixion scene. The memorial rests on 4 steps; the 2nd step is inscribed: 'This cross has been set up on the ancient base by the Halsall parishioners in memory of their kinsmen who fell for King and Country 1914-1919. Their names are inscribed below.' The memorial is Grade II listed (Historic England List entry Number: 1073158 https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1073158 ).
