Ormskirk station, Preston end
The line from Liverpool to Preston was cut in two at Ormskirk at some time around 1980. South of here is electrified to Liverpool. North to Preston remains diesel-operated as seen here with 150123 awaiting departure. The single platform (originally just for southbound trains) is thus divided into platforms 1 (Liverpool) and 2 (Preston).

Hattersley House, Ormskirk.
Taken from exactly the same spot as
Image An office and trading estate now occupies the open area of the earlier photo which was the site of the former Hattersley foundry. The new development is certainly an improvement visually.
