Carved stone post by the B5424, in parish of FORMBY (SEFTON District), Church Road, near junction with Davenham Road, by No. 49, in pavement, on West side of road. Lancashire CC stone triangle, erected by the Local Highways Board in the 19th/20th century.

The church was opened on 14th August 1864; several renovations have taken place during its lifetime The title of the church, "Our Lady of Compassion" is interesting, since most old chapels from this period would be called "St Mary's".

This Toby Carvery has kept its original pub name by public request. On Christmas Day it was very busy, with several sittings for lunch - we enjoyed excellent food. Families had booked months in advance.
