Abraham and the Ram, Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral
Each of the chapels around the perimeter of Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral contains works of art and devotion by contemporary artists. This one, a statue by Liverpool sculptor Sean Rice (1931-1997) is titled "Abraham, our Father in Faith"; it stands in the west apse of the cathedral. The sculpture depicts Abraham with the ram caught in the thicket; a substitute for sacrifice, in the place of Abraham’s son Isaac (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis+22 Genesis 22, Abraham Tested).
