Abandoned development, Liverpool
A steel frame abandoned on the waterfront no doubt like a few others in the area a victim of the worst recession to hit the construction industry. No doubt a lot of people weren't paid.

Dingle: Former Herculaneum Dock entrance (south)
The mound of boulders to the right now conceals the southern entrance to the former Herculaneum Dock. The concrete structure straight ahead separated the north and south entrances. It is today occupied by a Chinese restaurant, the Chung Ku. Inscribed in the stones are the year "1866" and "Deepened 1883", and a series of depth gauge markings.

Entrance to Herculaneum Dock
The inscription on the rock can just be read "1866, DEEPENED 1883". The dock was closed in 1972 and filled in in the 1980's. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herculaneum_Dock. The glass-fronted building is a Chinese restaurant.
