Titanic Memorial
Located at the Pier Head is the Engineers' Memorial, commonly called the Titanic memorial (although the word Titanic is not inscribed). As home port of the White Star line and many of the Titanic's crew, Liverpool commissioned a memorial to the heroism and devotion to duty shown by the ship's engineers who remained at their posts to ensure the ship stayed afloat as long as possible. The design was changed before erection to commemorate all engineers lost during WWI.
