The site of the former Maghull Grammar School
Later Old Hall High School, now a housing estate. As I remember, this strip of concrete was beside a long jump pit.

Grosvenor Road shops, Maghull
Perhaps surprising to see that they all seem to be occupied. In the 1970s, the nearest shop was the Candy Box, a newsagent and sweet shop, and there was a small supermarket (Fine Fare) at the far end.

Boyer Avenue, Maghull
Some trees are recent additions; when I lived here in the 1970s it was barren open grass and the resemblance to an avenue was minimal. The houses at the top of the road are also relatively new as the area was formerly occupied by Maghull Grammar School, later renamed Old Hall High School and then part of Maghull High School before demolition.

Built sometime in the 1950s as Maghull began its progression from sleepy village to commuter town. The photographer lived here briefly in the mid-1960s.
