M58 motorway - curve onto the main alignment
The history of Merseyside's motorways is littered with the ghosts of schemes never fulfilled. The M58 was intended to continue to Liverpool's Seaforth Docks with this access from Switch Island being merely a slip road. Hence a tight S-bend at the start of the motorway.
