Yew Tree House
Yew Tree House, part of which was built in the mid 17th century and probably contains fragments of a much earlier dwelling, however, even this earlier structure is of a later date than the moat which once lay alongside. The walls are of red sandstone with a slate roof and stone mullioned windows. The moated site has also been suggested as once being used as a hunting lodge by the Earl's of Derby. The Grade II listed building has had many previous names. More info is available here: http://www.roydenhistory.co.uk/halewood/buildings/yewtree/yewtree.htm

Halewood Doorstep Green
Recently erected children's playground on the 36 acres of green space more commonly known as “The Backie” or Dista Field” which has been developed as a Doorstep Green for the benefit of the local community. Local volunteers and workers from adjacent factory Eli Lilly, helped make this redundant space into a pleasant green park.
