Speke Junction shed
A typically grimy 'WD' class 2-8-0, 90076 stands on one of the ash road next to the shed. The concrete tower on the left is the ash plant. Ash tubs could be run in the pits to collect ash from locomotives, then hoisted up the tower from where the ash would be let down into wagons for removal.
