Painting the Baltic Fleet
Fortunately for the decorators they only have this one building to paint, not the entire fleet - the scaffolding is rather lost in the shadow on the front of the building. This popular micro-brewery and pub faces on to Wapping and is all that is left of the old buildings in its immediate vicinity. Julian Osley's photo shows it in its new livery Image

The Baltic Fleet, Liverpool
The sole survivor of Liverpool's traditional seamen's pubs occupies a triangular block enclosed by Wapping, Cornhill and Hurst Street. The chimneys are painted to look like the smokestacks of a steamer and the interior is replete with nautical memorabilia. The bar serves a good range of products from its own Wapping microbrewery and also offers a traditional seamen's breakfast or a plate of the local dish Scouse. For a view from the main waterfront road side (Wapping), taken a few days earlier, see Stephen Richards' Image
