At a now disused approach to Holmestead (Image]). The lodge was built c1845, the decorative wrought-iron gates date from c1870 when the house was enlarged. Grade II listed.

St Matthew and St James, Rose Lane, Liverpool
"One of the best Victorian churches in Liverpool", the work of Paley & Austin, 1870-75. It was restored by Alfred Sherman in 1950-52 following war damage. Red sandstone. Grade II* listed.
