Shop of Cans, Nelson Street, Liverpool
Peering through the window of a shop in Nelson Street, Liverpool, I was surprised to see that the walls had been lined with discarded drinks cans. I was not sure if this was part of an art installation or a comment about waste (or maybe both?)

The Imperial Arch, China Town, Liverpool
The current location for Liverpool's China Town is not the historic one, which was cleared by slum clearance and also the bombing of the Second World War. The new China town is centred around and includes parts of Berry Street, Duke Street, Upper Pitt Street and Upper Parliament Street. The new Imperial Arch was officially opened in January 2000.

Chinese Arch
The Chinese Arch was a Liverpool initiative completed in 2000 and built by craftsmen of Liverpool's sister city Shanghai and shipped from China piece by piece. Spanning Nelson Street, at over 14 feet it is reportedly the biggest Chinese Arch outside of Asia. With its 200 Dragons, five roofs and sheer complexity it is well worth taking the time to view this huge structure. Protected by two bronze lions, and placed correctly with the principles of Feng Shui, the archway in all its glory simply states one thing, Zhong Guo Cheng or simply translated "Chinatown."

Europleasure International Ltd - Liverpool
Rather aptly named if I might say. This former warehouse, tent factory and snooker hall also features in the Liverpool Biennial 2010 whereby Spanish artist Cristina Lucas invited former factory workers, shipbuilders and miners to throw stones at a derelict warehouse as part of an art project. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-10913772
