Balbirnie stone circle
This small stone circle originally dates from between 4000 to 1500 BC. Unfortunately this one dates from 1970/71 when it was moved from its original site when the Glenrothes to New Inn road was made into a dual carriageway.

Balfarg mortuary enclosure
This is a partially reconstructed Neolithic timber mortuary enclosure. The site was discovered in the early 1980s. Balfarg is rich in Neolithic archeology much of which has not been treated with due respect during the construction of roads and housing in the area in the last quarter of the 20th century. However, the juxtaposition of old and new is interesting for the residents. In its original state bodies would have been placed on such a platform for excarnation.

Blairadam Court
Balfarg, Glenrothes. Many of the roads are named after major orienteeing venues (and minor ones like Blairadam). The presence of two World Championship venues, Darnaway and Affric is probably not coincidental. Will there be a Strathfarrar Avenue after 2015?
