The Braes Loan Trail
This seat was a welcome sight after the long plod up the gradient from Markinch! The roof of the house of North Lodge can just be seen.

North Lodge
The Braes Loan Trail passes this isolated house which has a great view southwards across what was the lands of Brunton House.

Brunton Barns
The buildings just visible on the grassy hill are those of Brunton Barns - the former home farm of Brunton House. Brunton House itself was demolished in the early 1970s and its location is now hidden by trees.

Brunton Barns
The building is the cottage of Brunton Barns which was the home farm of Brunton House. Although Brunton House was demolished in the early 1970s part of the walled garden can still be seen to the left of the image. Note: Brunton House was the home of Lady Christian Vallance (de Valoniis) whose son, Henry, founded St Andrews University.
