Middle Mill Cottages
This row of cottages were associated with the Middle Mill which, apparently was the last grain mill to operate on the River Leven. The taller building on the right is the derelict remains of the mill. Most of the cottages are also pretty much derelict although one of them shows signs of occupation.

Footbridge over A911
This footbridge crosses the A911 from Sappi Road (also known as West Mill Road). It leads to private properties on the other side of the road and to the training field of the Kingdom of Fife Dog Agility club.

This housing development by Persimmon Homes is bisected by the Balbirnie Viaduct Path (straight ahead). From this point the viaduct path proceeds towards Markinch. Just before this footbridge Image it turns left to cross the viaduct Image It is also possible to turn right to reach Markinch Railway Station.

West Mill, Markinch
The development of West Mill, which will have 230 homes, is being built by Persimmon Homes. This is West Mill Road which is closed to through traffic during the early stages of construction and now serves as the access road to the site. There are plans to fully reopen this road to become the main road through the completed development.
