Outlet from Kinghorn Loch
Kinghorn Loch was formed during the last Ice Age. During the latter part of the 20th century, the loch became seriously polluted with industrial effluent. Under the auspices of the Craigencalt Rural Community Trust and with the support of Alcan, the loch has been restored to ecological good health and as a result supports a rich variety of wildlife, and recreational pursuits.
