Fault Breccia
This ridge of rock stands proud on the shore at right angles to most of the other rocks. It is a fault breccia, that is, rock ground up and fragmented along the line of a fault, and then relithified. In the far distance, beyond the Firth of Forth, is the conical shape of North Berwick Law in Image

Foreshore near Linton Court
The shore is formed of layers of limestone, which is resistant to erosion, and shales and other less resistant layers which have been preferentially removed by the sea. Largo Law is on the distant skyline.
