Aberdour Castle
Dating from the 12 th century and standing near the shore of the Firth of Forth. This is one of the two oldest standing castles in Scotland. The other is Castle Sween in Argyll.

Aberdour Castle courtyard
The castle is by the Dour Burn, near where it falls into the Firth of Forth. A 16th century creation of regent Morton, it was last occupied by Robert Watson of Muirhouse who died here in 1791. http://canmore.org.uk/site/50844/aberdour-castle gives architectural details.

St Fillan’s Church Gates 1123-2023 Aberdour
St Fillan’s Church is perhaps the oldest church in Scotland. It shows the finest example of simple Norman architecture. This year it celebrates its 900th anniversary.
