Clynelish Distillery
From the A9. This oil-fired distillery opened in 1968, to replace an earlier coal-fired one dating from 1897. However there had been a distillery on the site since 1819, built by the Sutherland estate to provide an outlet for his tenant farmers' grain rather than them selling to illegal moonshiners.
