The North Baths, Wick, Caithness
The swimming pool was built in 1904 at a cost of £145 3s 8d. Although the pool was used before then, an official gala opening day was held on 7th September. The first group of swimmers were given 10s to spend in the refreshment tent. The pool was abandoned after about 60 years, but was reopened in 2004. It suffered storm damage in 2012 and, at the time the photo was taken, doesn't appear to be in use. The railing separates the deep end (up to 6-7' deep) from the gently sloping shallow end.
