Young riders at the Royal Mews, Hampton Court
This building, which stands between the Thames and Hampton Court Green, now houses a riding school run by the Horse Rangers Association. On this Sunday afternoon there were a good many young ladies (very young ladies, as you see here) busy around the stables and yard. I was amused to see a notice forbidding parents from entering - the place is firmly in the hands of the younger generation. For a general view of the Mews and more on location and history, see: Image

Grade I listed Royal Mews, Hampton Court Road, East Molesey
Viewed across the A308. The Royal Mews and the adjacent Great Barn were Grade I listed in 1952 as outstanding buildings which are rare surviving examples of opulent 16th and 17th century stabling.

The Royal Mews, Hampton Court
This long, barn-like building stands on the south side of Hampton Court Green, to the north-west of the Palace, and alongside the A308 Sunbury road. The building dates from Tudor times - the inscription 'Elizabeth Regina 1570' appears on a little white plaque high up over the big bricked-up arch. The Mews nowadays house the stables (and, I believe, offices) of the Horse Rangers Association. For another view see: Image
